Upon further inspection, these trail of rat droppings are on top of insulation in an attic. It can be determined how bad the infestation is by the amount of droppings found in a given area. This will also be a determining factor if anything can be salvaged and cleaned up. If the damage is extensive, the insulation will need to be take out, and new insulation inserted back in. The cost can add up, however, the bacteria, and diseases that could arise would far outweigh the risk to keeping an contaminated insulation in your property.
If you are experiencing an infestation, or suspect rat droppings or any other unfamiliar droppings in or around your home, call a wildlife expert to do an inspection.
